The octopus is my spirit animal. While spending several months in the Bahamas, I was able to scuba dive at the same cove daily and made some true octopus friends. Getting to know them and drawing them underwater has been the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. They're endlessly curious, love playing with my pencils, and sometimes even try to pull me into their dens. Once in a while they'll allow me to tag along during a hunting expedition while they move stealthily across the sea floor in perfect camouflage, but then just like that, with a plume of ink they disappear! The entire experience has been pure magic.
